Centerless O.D. grinding - conventional or with CBN

Centerless O.D. grinding with JUNKER means high output due to the grinding wheel's great durability. Only JUNKER combines these processing methods with CBN grinding wheels, which makes considerable advantages in productivity possible, especially at large quantities.

Centerless grinding with a "workpiece on the fly”

Centerless grinding involves the work-piece being simultaneously machined and guided on its generated surface. The line contact on a grinding wheel forms the grinding line, the workpiece lies flush with the regulating wheel and is held in place from below by a guide rail.  During grinding, the center of the workpiece lowers as its diameter is reduced through abrasion. This causes the work-piece to migrate towards the regulating wheel. JUNKER’s electronic control system compensates for this position change by tracking the grinding wheel so that pre-cise machining is guaranteed at all times. Centerless cylindrical grinding is also the ideal solution for workpieces that are dif-ficult to hold due to their shape or small dimensions.
