Sales assistant at Erwin Junker Maschinenfabrik GmbH

A chat with: Franziska Brähler

How long have you been working at JUNKER and what does your career path look like?

In 2014, I successfully completed my training as an industrial clerk in a medium-sized metalworking company specialized in CNC machining technology. After my training, I was responsible for the procurement of merchandise and tools in the purchasing department. I have been working as a sales assistant in new machine sales at JUNKER since April 2015. I also work as an SAP key user and act as a central contact person for our trainees.

What is your main area of responsibility?

I support the sales team in the project phase by preparing quote, following up on quote requests and coordinating the next steps until the offer is submitted. This includes processing the offer, finalizing it and compiling all the necessary documents for the offer. I work closely with our sales team to follow up on current projects and take part in bid discussions with our customers.

Please name three key elements of your work.

  • Supporting the sales team during the quote and order process
  • Communication and customer support
  • Managing and updating data in our CRM and SAP system

What is important in sales in your opinion?

Among other things, understanding and analyzing customer needs and implement them in tailormade solutions is essential. In sales, long-term customer relationships are equally important and rely on consistent and honest communication, not only to close deals but also to build trust. Given the large number of customers and tasks in sales, efficient time management and a structured working method are crucial for maintaining a clear overview.

What was your best work experience?

The introduction of our new CRM system offered me a valuable opportunity for both professional and personal growth. Although the introduction of the new system came with its challenges, it creates significant added value for the JUNKER Group in the long term.

Would you like to share with us what you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I regularly go running and to the gym - this helps me to recharge my batteries. I also like experimenting with new recipes and particularly enjoy cooking Asian food. My personal highlight was a threeweek trip to Mexico at the end of 2024.
