LTA pressure relief flap

The LTA pressure relief flap protects the machine housing from becoming deformed due to elevated internal pressure. A predefined pressure level inside the machine causes the pressure relief flap to open. An opening is created, and excessive pressure is released. Once the pressure is released, the pressure relief flap closes on its own.
This interrupts airflow, which usually stops fire the moment it begins. Unlike other systems, the flap can be used as often as required. The opening pressure can be set to a precise value, and the flap position can be easily monitored. The opening pressure is 20 mbar.

Parameters required for dimensioning the pressure relief flap

  • Internal volume of the machine
  • Maximum allowable pressure and maximum amount of flammable compound in machine interior
  • Minimum opening pressure of the pressure relief flap
