Filtration systems for cooling lubricant mist

Frictional heat arises in metal processing machines (such as turning, milling or grinding machines) during the machining processes. These machines require lubricant inside the machines in order to cool the workpiece during the metalworking. The harmful particles in either oil or emulsion coolant place considerable strain on production. Machines with high-speed or internally cooled tools and high cooling lubricant pressures, in particular, must have exhaust air cleaning.

The oil and emulsion mist filters from LTA Lufttechnik GmbH can work either individually, in a group, or centrally to clean the cooling lubricant mist that arises during the metalworking process. The high filtration efficiency far in excess of 99% achieved by the LTA filtration systems makes every production process more environmentally friendly while increasing worker satisfaction.

The flow-optimized design of the oil and emulsion mist filters ensures low energy consumption and reduces operating costs. The cooling lubricant mist filters for industry and skilled trades are available with one or two-step cleaning, depending on the particle load. A distinction is made between a low load with particles ranging from 1 to 10 μm in size and a heavy particle load with particles ranging from 0.01 to 10 μm. Tools with faster rotational speeds and higher coolant pressures in modern machine tools generate higher particle loads in the form of ever smaller pollutants.

The pre-filters are integrated in the air filter housing. Additional optional mechanical pre and post-filters can be installed for both coarse contamination and for smoke or, in the active charcoal versions, also for odors. As the electronics are integrated in the housing and located directly in the filtration system, a special control cabinet is not needed. The extremely quiet-running fan improves working conditions in production halls. It can be powered with either single-phase or optionally three-phase current. The filter elements used have a universal design and can be used in the majority of LTA oil and emulsion mist filters for industry and skilled trades.
